Criteria of Membership

Members of the International Hot Tub Association agree to have the proper certifications, licenses and insurance for all the municipalities in which they do business and agree to observe and meet the following policies:

As a Manufacturer…

All hot tubs or swim spas must be ETL and/or UL listed and certified as a fully completed factory built product.
The company must prove to have been manufacturing portable electric hot tubs for not less than three (3) years under the same trade name and the same corporate entity.
The company must adhere to and not infringe on trademarks and patents of other manufacturers within the hot tub industry.
The company must not engage in false, misleading or deceptive advertising.

As a Supplier…

You must provide assurances that your materials are free from any hazardous materials or harmful substances.

As a Retailer or Distributor…

You agree to only sell hot tubs or swim spas that are ETL and/or UL listed and are certified as a fully completed factory built product.
The company must not engage in false, misleading or deceptive advertising.
You agree to provide your customers the support and service necessary to promote the good will of the hot tub industry.

Improve Winter Sleep with a Hot Tub

A study conducted by the Journal of Physiological Anthropological Applied Human Science; studied the effects of daily bathing and hot footbath in winter on the sleep behavior of nine healthy female volunteers. The results suggest that both daily bathing and hot footbath before sleeping facilitates earlier sleep onset.

IHTA ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS ELECTED

The International Hot Tub Association held its Annual Meeting on January 10th and elected their officers and directors for the New Year. Bob Lauter from Master Spas is the new President. Mike Dunn from Watkins Manufacturing is the Vice President and Cindi Magray from Spa Manufacturers is the Secretary Treasurer. Directors elected are: Michel Authier, Gecko Alliance; Jeff Bailey, Spring Dance Hot Tubs; John Day, Sloan LED; Don Elkington, Coast Spas Manufacturing; Steve Hammock, Watkins Manufacturing; Jerry Hyland, PoolCorp; Patti Kirsch, Waterway Plastics; Bob Moore, Custom Molded Products; Sue Rogers, Oregon Hot Tubs; Larry Savage, Lawrence R Savage Associates and Howard Smith from Pleatco. The group is excited about 2012 as it begins to plan IHTA's agenda for the year.
